SaaS Product + Mobile App
Project Overview

This project serves Gallup’s flagship platform for enterprise clients, such as Verizon, Volvo, Accenture, Disney, Wells Fargo, and the NFL, as well as more than 600 other organizations, totaling 3 million enterprise users.

When we retired the mobile app dedicated to consumers for our CliftonStrengths product, those users were migrated to this app for better cross-product conversions. This included nearly 23 million consumer users added to the platform.

Throughout the project’s life, our main goal was to create a seamless experience across our many product offerings without feeling overwhelming.

The app features cross-functional products and services across many user roles and privileges. It is also translated into 14 languages and is compliant with accessibility standards. Designs follow Material Design Guidelines and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. The iOS application is displayed within my portfolio.

Responsabilities

Acting as Lead Product Designer

  • Collaborate with the desktop designer on new features and requirements added to the platform.
  • Collaborate with engineers on ideas and mobile best practices.
  • Keep continuity between product areas and iterative feature changes.
  • Create Design System for Android and iOS
  • Wireframe solutions in either low or high fidelity.
  • Test viable solutions with internal users.
  • Create mockups and prototypes for developers and stakeholders to review.
  • Collaborate with QA specialist on QA builds before pushing to production.
Problems
  • There was much debate about splitting our multiple products into separate apps. The product team was concerned about creating a cluttered experience.
  • To convince stakeholders that we could make it all work seamlessly in one app, my team and I spent a lot of time refining the architecture and usability through wireframing, prototyping, and testing.
  • Some of the complex interactions required more than just the use of native iOS and Material Design standard components.
  • Even though we call the app “simple,” communicating its many different states and functionalities effectively to all the engineers was not an easy task.
Timeline

This was a constant ongoing project for 6 years and I’ve been through every challenge and every success of its lifespan.
