Project Case Study :: Visuals + Documentation
Case Study Overview
Using a variety of methods, I’ll review and notate parts of the app on what the users are doing within the app. I’ll use a combination of analytics tracking, usability studies, and in-person/remote sessions.
The screens I will be focusing on are for one of our biggest products within the app – our Q12 Employee Engagement survey reporting. This product is heavily focused within the app and is constantly adapting to new features and usability findings.
Goals
- Make notations based on findings
- Take notations back to engineers and PMs on possible sprint planning improvements.
- Track past patterns that worked and/or failed.
The Four Click Rule
USER STORY:
As a manager, I want to look at my lowest Q12 Score, so I can know what I need to improve.
I came up with the "Four Click Rule" as a way to ensure our core user goals were met within the rule. When it wasn't initially possible, I found ways to sneak them in different ways that could or could not need a click-through to get to the information, but would also try to keep it lower than four.
The Notations
I will use this method in a variety of ways, but I will often use these for my own documentation and to share with partners on how well features and screens are performings.
