Workshop Findings

Project Case Study :: Exploration
Case Study Overview

Whenever we have a new client here at Nagarro, we provide a complimentary workshop with the client in attendance in order to understand the business needs and opportunities for us to help them. Depending on the initial scope of requests they think they want, we tailor the workshop to those needs and what we suspect is needed. All of this provides the client with possibilities of how our partnership is the right fit for them.

I was not the moderator for this workshop, but did participate in the meeting and did the documentation.

Workshop Goals
  • The focus of the business.
  • Who the end-users are, what they think, feel, say and need.
  • Understanding the journey for parents and students.
  • What values are most important to deliver from the business.
  • Define opportunities that we can use to design concepts.

Workshop Methods

We implemented a 4-hour workshop with the client that utilized five workshop methods to learn about the client’s business, users, and priorities.

  • Business Alignment
  • Persona Archetypes
  • Journey Mapping
  • How Might We
  • Product Prioritization

Business Goals

From the Business Alignment workshop, we learned more in-depth way about the business operations and why they needed help with their products. I classified the business goals and product goals separately.

This is one our most common and important workshops we do with our clients. Typically our findings reveal more than what we discover in the RFP process.

Persona Archetypes

Here we learned a lot about the age groups of student users and different parent types. If you aren’t familiar with archetype personas, they are primary behavioral characteristics.

An archetype is like a draft of the main players of a storyline without granular details like a traditional persona. These are much quicker to produce than a persona and give you a general idea of who your users are.

If you have kids, which parent type are you?

Opportunities & Pain Points

Here we gather insights from all the workshops into a collection of paint points & opportunities that would significantly improve their product and user journey.

Often times this reveals truths about the product and how the business operates. This gives us negotiating power to widen the scope of work to more impactful priorities and sometimes it tells us if we are the right fit to help them.

In this particular case with this client it revealed how much they took shortcuts in building their digital experiences and how they over-complicated onboarding.

Results & Outcomes

These workshops provided a lot of insights into how much help the client needed and the scope of the project per our recommendations. These insights allowed us to negotiate the scope and prioritization of work.
The documentation of these results provides us to create case studies and slide decks for sharing these strategies with others within the company and future prospects.
